Ashley Armstrong – Director of Goalkeeping

    Ashley Armstrong brings a wealth of high-level coaching experience, leadership, and specialized goalkeeper development expertise to RSL-AZ West Valley. With a career spanning youth, collegiate, and elite pathway environments, Ashley is dedicated to developing goalkeepers who are confident, technically sharp, and prepared for the next level of the game.

    Ashley currently serves as a Head Girls Coach and Club Operations leader, following impactful roles as Director of Coaching and Director of Goalkeeping at multiple top-tier clubs. She has designed and implemented goalkeeper-specific training curriculums across entire club structures, working with athletes in Girls Academy, Elite 64, and Olympic Development Program (ODP) environments. 

    Her experience includes coaching at the collegiate level as a goalkeeper coach with programs such as Salt Lake Community College and Utah Valley University, as well as contributing to team operations, player development planning, and performance management. Ashley has also played a key role in ODP at both the state and regional levels, helping guide teams to success, including a West Region ODP Championship Final appearance. 

    As a former Division II collegiate goalkeeper, Ashley understands the demands of the position and brings that insight into her coaching. Her approach emphasizes technical mastery, tactical awareness, decision-making under pressure, and the mental resilience required to excel as a goalkeeper.

    Ashley holds some of the highest coaching credentials in the country, including a US Soccer A-Youth License, US Soccer B License, and the USC Advanced National Goalkeeping Diploma, along with multiple advanced coaching certifications. She was also recognized as part of the prestigious USC 30 Under 30 Class, highlighting her impact and leadership within the coaching community. 

    At RSL-AZ West Valley, Ashley leads the goalkeeper program with a clear vision: to create an elite development environment that prepares goalkeepers for success at the highest levels of youth, college, and beyond. Her commitment to player development, combined with her extensive experience and passion for the game, makes her an invaluable leader within the club.
