Expectations for Player Development

1. Develop the player’s appreciation of the game. 
2. Keep winning and losing in proper perspective. 
3. Be sensitive to each player’s developmental needs. 
4. Educate the players to the technical, tactical, physical and psychological demands of the game. 
5. Players need to have fun and receive feedback. 
6. Practice should be conducted in the spirit of enjoyment and learning. 
7. Strive to help each player reach their full potential and be prepared to move to the next level. 
8. Excellent role models for children.

Expectations for Safety

1. Your first responsibility is the health and safety of all participants. 
2. Know and understand the Laws of the Game. 
3. Inspect equipment and field conditions for safety. 
4. Utilize proper teaching and instructing of players regarding safe techniques and methods of play. 
5. Be prepared to handle first aid situations as well as medical emergencies at all practices and games, both home and away. 
6. Supervise and control your players to avoid injury.

We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate individual for our Boys Soccer Director Coaching Role. 

Position Overview

RSL AZ West Valley is seeking an energetic and dynamic Boys Soccer Director to support our overall club's development. The role will be responsible for supporting all aspects of player development and program management for our youth teams. This role is critical in shaping the future of our club by ensuring that all of our players receive the highest level of training and support.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Development: Support the design, implementation, and overseeing RSL AZ West Valley curriculum, ensuring alignment with the club’s overall philosophy and long-term player development goals.

Coaching Leadership: Support, mentor, and develop coaches, ensuring they deliver consistent, high-quality training sessions in accordance with the club’s philosophy.

Player Development: In coordination with the Technical Director, monitor and assess player progress, providing feedback and guidance to help each player reach their potential.

Team Management: Oversee team formation, training schedules, and play date preparation for all academy teams.

Parent Engagement: Communicate regularly with parents to provide updates on player development, team progress, and upcoming events.

Administration: Manage administrative tasks related to teams, including scheduling, and reporting. 

Qualifications:

• Experience: Coaching experience, with a strong background in youth soccer and player development.
• Licensing: UEFA/USSF ‘B’ License, or equivalent certification (lower licensing applications will be considered in combination with proven experience and results)
• Leadership: Proven track record of managing and developing teams.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with players, parents, and staff.
• Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with experience managing multiple teams and projects simultaneously.
• Passion: A deep commitment to youth soccer and the development of young players.

• The traditional work hours for this job are combined with office hours during the day/week along with evening and weekend hours on the field and at remote sites
