The RSL-AZ West Valley Excel Program is a youth soccer development program for boys and girls ages U6-U15 who are ready for more than recreational soccer but may not yet be ready for the full commitment of competitive club soccer.
Excel is designed to bridge the gap between recreational soccer and competitive soccer by giving players access to professional coaching, structured practices, and a stronger development environment while still keeping the game fun, positive, and age appropriate.
Families from Surprise, El Mirage, Goodyear, Peoria, Glendale, Buckeye, Waddell, Litchfield Park, Avondale, and across the Phoenix West Valley choose RSL-AZ West Valley Excel because it gives young players a clear pathway to improve, grow confidence, and prepare for the next level.
The Excel Program is a step above traditional recreational soccer. Excel teams play in the RSL-AZ Recreational League, but they are coached by members of the RSL-AZ West Valley professional coaching staff instead of volunteer coaches.
This gives players a more advanced training experience while still allowing them to develop at the right pace.
The program is ideal for players who love soccer, want to improve, and may be interested in eventually joining a competitive youth soccer team.
The RSL-AZ West Valley Excel Program gives players the opportunity to train in a more structured and challenging environment without jumping straight into full club soccer.
Excel is built for players who are ready to grow, learn, and compete in a positive team environment.
Many families wonder when their child is ready for competitive soccer. The Excel Program helps answer that question by giving players a chance to experience a more advanced soccer environment without the full demands of a competitive club team.
Players receive professional coaching, more focused training, and the opportunity to build the technical skills, confidence, and soccer understanding needed to move forward.
For players who want to eventually try out for a competitive soccer team, Excel is one of the best developmental steps in the Phoenix West Valley youth soccer pathway.

When there are enough players registered in an age group, RSL-AZ West Valley may form divisions made up of only Excel teams. This allows players to compete against other teams with a similar development focus.
In some seasons, Excel teams may play in divisions with both recreational and Excel teams. Teams may also play up an age group or combine age groups when needed to create the best game experience for players.
During select Fall, Winter, and Spring seasons, Excel teams may have the opportunity to participate in club-sponsored tournaments for an additional cost.
Tournaments can give players more game experience, help build team chemistry, and introduce families to a more competitive soccer environment.
The Excel Program is a great way for players to prepare for future RSL-AZ West Valley competitive soccer tryouts.
Players are introduced to professional coaching, higher expectations, technical development, and a more competitive training atmosphere. This helps players understand what the next level looks like while continuing to build confidence and enjoy the game.
For many players, Excel is the perfect step between recreational soccer and competitive club soccer.
The Excel Program is best for players who enjoy soccer, want to improve, and are ready for more structured training than traditional recreational soccer. It is also a great option for players who may want to try out for competitive soccer in the future.
Players do not need competitive soccer experience to join Excel. The program is designed for players who are ready to learn, work hard, and continue improving their soccer skills.
Tournaments are not included in the standard season fee. During select seasons, Excel teams may have the opportunity to participate in club-sponsored tournaments for an additional cost.
Families can register for the RSL-AZ West Valley Excel Program through the registration link on the Excel page. Spots may be limited by age group, coach availability, and field space.
