Dear Player,     

   CONGRATULATIONS! You have been selected to become a member of the RSL-AZ West Valley Team for the 2022/23 Season. Many players try out for the RSL-AZ teams so you can be proud that the RSL-AZ coaches have invited you to become a part of this program. As a member of the RSL-AZ team, you will play other competitive club teams in or out of the Phoenix, AZ. area – participating in regional (and perhaps national) tournaments with other competitive club teams with the possibility of competing in State League, National Premier League, ECNL, ECRL, ELITE 64, MLS NEXT and EA levels as part of the RSL-AZ family.    

   We look forward to having you become a part of a fine soccer tradition. Being a member of RSL-AZ is an honor, but it also requires a special commitment. If you have been playing soccer at the recreational and select level of youth soccer, little may have been required of you. This is a more competitive level, and you will be expected to make certain commitments to your coaches, your team, and yourself. At this level of competition, success and fun on the soccer field do not come without extra effort. The will to win is not enough; you must have the will to prepare to win. We are speaking of more than just the effort it takes to show up on the day of the game. We are talking about the kind of effort that involves hard work and choices regarding how you wish to spend your free time, requiring some sacrifices on your part. If you are willing to make this commitment, then we believe that we can help you become a better soccer player and a contributing member of a competitive soccer program with the opportunity to take your game to the next level.     

   As coaches, we commit to you that we will work hard to help you improve your skills, gain more knowledge of the game, boost confidence, increase your fitness level, make practices a worthwhile experience, and give you the opportunity to elevate your game. We will expect you to work hard, but we will make every effort to see to it that you have fun as well. We believe that many good soccer experiences lie ahead of you. We hope that you will take the RSL-AZ Commitment to Excellence seriously.
